A semiconductor gas sensor is used for measurement, which is very robust. This is often a sensible alternative to other sensors that cannot be used due to the presence of catalyst poisons in the atmosphere. The ExDetector SC 220 is stand-alone capable, i.e. it can independently initiate protective measures without the additional use of an evaluation unit. Integrated low-voltage switching outputs for pre-alarm, main alarm and sensor fault are available. It can also be conventionally connected to an evaluation unit.
