HCN is widely used in industrial processes, particularly in <strong>plastics production<\/strong>, <strong>metal finishing<\/strong>, <strong>electroplating<\/strong> and the <strong>chemical industry<\/strong>&#8211; and therefore also poses a <strong>safety risk<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-bl-block-spacer\"><div class=\"is-style-small\"><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-hcn-a-deadly-danger-even-in-the-smallest-quantities\">HCN &#8211; A deadly danger even in the smallest quantities<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The effect of hydrogen cyanide is highly toxic: just <strong>20-40 ppm<\/strong> in the air is enough to cause serious damage to health. Above <strong>120 ppm<\/strong>, HCN can <strong>be fatal<\/strong> within a few minutes.
