Fascinating: By the way, one of Nicole’s kids is the reason our state-of-the-art placement machines were given the cool names “Lilo & Stitch”! With such great motivation, we’re sure to hear even more about this unusual collaboration in the future 😉

Curiosity is the first step into the working world: How are gas detectors actually made?

July 2026: Summer vacation begins this week in Baden-Württemberg—and many students are looking forward to a well-deserved break. ☀️

We recently had the pleasure of welcoming two 10th-grade classes and three teachers from Gymnasium Achern to Bieler+Lang to show them how modern gas detection technology is developed and manufactured.

Following a brief company presentation, the students gained fascinating insights into the world of gas detection technology —from the fundamentals of various sensor and detector technologies to our state-of-the-art electronics manufacturing facility with its highly automated assembly machines. Our high level of vertical integration, in particular, sparked great interest.

A fascinating look behind the scenes of modern electronics manufacturing: Dieter Fischer and Christian Ell gave the groups a tour of our company and answered numerous questions. With the goal of inspiring young talent to pursue careers in technology, the joint tour also served as a hands-on career orientation experience.

A heartfelt thank you to Achern High School—especially to teacher Michael Staak—for organizing this event and giving young people the opportunity to gain early insights into the professional world and modern industry. We’re already looking forward to seeing you again!

A piece of biogas history is being retired: Two decades of the energy transition with the GMC Biogas 08 from Bieler+Lang.

Summer 2026: With the GMC Biogas 08, Bieler+Lang is phasing out a gas analyzer that has been a reliable companion to the biogas industry for many years.

This farewell comes at a time when the biogas industry can look back on impressive growth: Today, in Germany alone, some 9,600 biogas plants ensure a secure and sustainable energy supply!

These plants generate a small—but all the more important—share of renewable electricity, at 5–6 percent: As flexibly controllable power plants, they offset fluctuations in wind and solar energy, stabilize the power grid, and help maintain a balance between supply security and our electricity prices. At the same time, many of these plants efficiently utilize the heat they generate through combined heat and power (CHP).

Bieler+Lang is proud to have supported this development over many years with reliable gas analysis and gas measurement technology. The GMC Biogas 08 was used not only in Germany but also in numerous biogas projects across Europe and around the world. For many years, it served as a key component for operators, ensuring safe operation and protecting people, the environment, and equipment.

Even though production of the GMC Biogas 08 is now coming to an end, we will, of course, remain committed to our customers. We will continue to service units that have already been installed to the best of our ability. In addition, we will ensure the supply of replacement parts as long as they are available. Our service and support team will continue to serve as a knowledgeable point of contact for all plant operators in the future.

We would like to thank all our customers, partners, and operators for the trust they have placed in us over many years. Together, we have helped ensure that biogas is now an indispensable part of a secure, sustainable, and increasingly flexible energy supply.

We look forward to continuing to support the energy transition in the future with innovative gas detection technology in the biogas sector.

The SMG Operations Leaders Summit at Bieler+Lang in Achern!

Mid-June 2026: Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming the Safe Monitoring Group’s operations managers to our facility in Achern. The focus was on topics such as supply chain and manufacturing best practices, KPI management, operational excellence, and group-wide standardization measures.

As the Safe Monitoring Group’s electronics manufacturing hub, Bieler+Lang’s electronics manufacturing division plays a central role in the development and production of innovative gas detection technologies. Together with our
partner companies, we share experiences, identify synergies, and shape the future of our manufacturing and supply chain processes.

Many thanks to our colleagues at SMG, Samon, IGD, CPC-UK, Duran Electronica, Sensotran, and Szenzortechnika for the open exchange of ideas, the valuable insights, and the inspiring discussions.

June 11, 2026: Yesterday we attended the career information fair at the Vocational and Technical School in Offenburg. As part of the Safe Monitoring Group, we presented our apprenticeship programs at our Achern location:

✅ Electronics technician for industrial engineering (m/f/d)
✅ Industrial clerk (m/f/d)

Together with strong companies from the region such as the Q-Fox Group, Hansgrohe, Markant, MEIKO, Hobart, Herrenknecht, Grohe and other international brands, we were able to hold numerous interesting discussions with the skilled workers of tomorrow.

💡 Our aim is to train tomorrow’s specialists ourselves and develop them in the long term.

Many thanks to the Friedrich-August-Haselwander Gewerblich-Technische Schule Offenburg and to Michael Österle for the successful organization and implementation of the event.

Detectors and sniffer noses – our service team: experts for gases and vapors of all kinds!

Beginning of June 2026: Toxic gases and vapors? Part of everyday life for our service team. But sometimes it’s the pleasant scents that cause a stir.

After a successful day of installing gas warning systems, calibrating detectors and maintaining systems, the Bieler+Lang service vehicles return to the yard. The team: satisfied, a little exhausted – and ready to call it a day.

But suddenly gases and vapors rise again! The situation is immediately investigated. Without any gas detectors, but with a well-trained sense of smell, our experts follow the promising trail.

The source? Not a danger – but a successful surprise from Jens Huber, the new team leader of our gas warning service. Jens and Bieler+Lang thanked his team for their daily commitment, dedication and strong cooperation in the service team with a joint barbecue evening.

A wonderful end to a successful working day – and further proof that Bieler+Lang not only attaches great importance to safety, but also to team spirit.

We exceeded our quarterly target – a great achievement to which each and every one of you contributed. Thank you very much for your commitment, your motivation and the great cooperation!

We celebrated this together today: At our Easter barbecue in front of the canteen, we enjoyed freshly grilled sausages from our new barbecue in glorious sunshine and lots of good conversation in a relaxed atmosphere.

March 26, 2026: We were at the first job fair at Bosch in neighboring Bühl – and we are still thrilled!

A huge thank you to Bosch for the great organization and the open, pleasant atmosphere. It was really fun to meet so many motivated and interested people and to exchange ideas.

We were particularly pleased with the great interest shown in our two business areas: Gas Detection Systems and Electronics Manufacturing. Bieler+Lang says goodbye to the GasMonitor ZrO2-25 detector

März 2026: Bieler+Lang verabschiedet einen echten Klassiker: den Gasmessfühler GasMonitor ZrO2-25.

For decades, this robust detector with zirconium oxide sensor has reliably proven itself in oxygen monitoring in the measuring range of 0-25% by volume. It was and is a faithful companion in daily use for many users.

This tried-and-tested product is now being withdrawn from the range as planned. Last orders for the GasMonitor ZrO2-25 are still possible until the end of April 2026. The last devices are expected to be delivered in June 2026.

The good news is that the discontinuation will not leave a gap in the Bieler+Lang portfolio. The GasMonitor 30 O2 a modern and very attractive alternative is already available. This detector works with a long-life electrochemical sensor (Long Life EC) and also covers the measuring range of 0-25 vol.% oxygen – including a 4-20 mA output for easy integration into existing systems.

Of particular interest to all users: the GasMonitor 30 O2 impresses with a very well thought-out housing design. This includes external mounting brackets for easy installation without opening the housing, an external connection for the WiFi dongle service tool and effective protection of the sensor against dirt and moisture. This ensures a sustainable and smooth everyday operation of the gas detector.

A comprehensive range of accessories is of course also available – from splash water protection to gas collection cones. Of course, all the necessary components for professional adjustment and calibration are also available, such as test gas caps, sampling devices, suitable test gases and the WiFi dongle service tool.

And now the best thing for all customers: The GasMonitor 30 O2 is available at almost half the price of the previous ZrO2-25. This leaves nothing to be desired. Oxygen monitoring remains reliable – and at the same time becomes even more economical and future-proof.

By the way: The GasMonitor 30 O2 is of course also available as GasMonitor 750 O2 with the same sensor cell, same measuring range and identical housing design for the 2-wire BUS systems of the Bieler+Lang 750 series.

Honors for 25 years of service at Bieler+Lang

February 2026: Today we were able to celebrate a very special moment in our production:

The management honored two employees for their 25th anniversary of service. A quarter of a century of dedication, loyalty and daily commitment – that is anything but a matter of course.

Many thanks for this impressive achievement and the many years in which both ladies have shaped our production with their know-how and experience!

At the same time, our production manager was honored for her exceptional commitment. With great commitment, leadership and passion, she works hard every day for her team and our common goals.
