ExDetector HC 200

The ExDetector HC 200 sensor is used to measure the current concentration of explosive gases and vapors. Combustible gases and vapors can be detected in the measuring range from 0 to 100 % LEL. The measuring principle is based on catalytic combustion (heat tinting).

The ExDetector HC 200 is stand-alone capable, i.e. it can independently initiate protective measures without the additional use of an evaluation unit. It can also be conventionally connected to an evaluation unit.

The ExDetector HC 200 can be used in Ex zone 2.

Special features:
  • Ex zone 2
  • Flammable gases and vapors
  • Measuring range from 0 to 100 % LEL
  • Stand alone mode possible
  • One-person calibration

Our quality standards:
  • Solid design in a robust housing
  • Durable with low maintenance costs
  • Developed and manufactured in Germany

Description

The ExDetector HC 200 can be used to detect flammable gases and vapors in the measuring range from 0 to 100 % LEL. The measuring principle is based on catalytic combustion (heat tinting).

The ExDetector HC 200 gas sensor has the following functions: Measurement of the current gas concentration. Monitoring or warning of this gas. Triggering of protective measures:
– Technical: The increase in concentration is counteracted (fan; shutdowns….).
– Organizational: Visual and acoustic messages.

The ExDetector HC200 sensor can be programmed in two operating modes:

Standalone mode
The integrated alarm evaluation is switched on. Two alarm levels with switch-off hysteresis can be stored in the programming. Alarm level 1 is designed as a pre-alarm and is a non-memory NC contact. Alarm level 2 (main alarm) switches a latching NC contact. After falling below this alarm threshold, the alarm is maintained and must be acknowledged via the reset input. A fault signaling contact signals malfunction and overrange. In addition, the measured value is output as a 4 … 20 mA signal for further processing.

Transmitter CL
If the alarm evaluation functionality is not required, the sensor can be operated with the integrated CL option. In this case, the sensor supplies the measured gas concentration in the form of a 4 … 20 mA signal for further processing in an alarm center; the alarm switching contacts are not activated
.

Operating parameters are programmed and the measuring element adjusted via the optionally available, also explosion-proof, control unit. This makes operation and maintenance possible even in hazardous areas.

Features of the ExDetector HC 200:

  • Detection of flammable and explosive gases and vapors
  • Measuring range 0 – 100 % LEL (lower explosion limit)
