Acetylene (C₂H₂) (ethylene)
highly explosive, highly sensitive, highly relevant
Acetylene is a colorless, flammable gas with a characteristic odor that is widely used in metalworking – for example in oxyfuel welding and cutting. It is also one of the most reactive and dangerous technical gases, as it is explosive even at low concentrations in combination with air.
Our gas detection systems reliably detect acetylene – long before a critical hazard arises.
Special features of acetylene:
- Heavier than air – collects in lower-lying areas
- Extremely low ignition energy – even the smallest sparks are sufficient
- Wide explosion limit: approx. 2.3 % to 100 % vol.
- Reactive – unstable under pressure or in pure form
By using specially calibrated sensors – for example with catalytic combustion or infrared technology – our measuring systems ensure early and reliable detection of even the smallest acetylene concentrations.
Your safety is our benchmark.
Whether in workshops, production facilities or gas storage areas – we offer you customized solutions for continuous monitoring and protection when handling acetylene.
You can rely on over 50 years of experience – made in Germany.
