Bieler+Lang - Wasserstoff Mobilität

Hydrogen in mobility – car, truck & co

Always well protected with permanently installed gas warning devices from Bieler+Lang

Hydrogen is becoming increasingly important in mobility worldwide. A wide variety of systems are used in vehicles to efficiently convert the energy stored in hydrogen into motion. Fuel cells are particularly well known, but it is also possible to burn hydrogen in suitable combustion engines.

Hydrogen is highly flammable and can form explosive mixtures on contact with air. Reliable gas detection is therefore essential wherever hydrogen can potentially escape.

Well-planned gas warning systems with special hydrogen sensors that react quickly and accurately to H2 gases should be used here to provide early warning of leaks or hazardous situations.

Areas of application for H2 gas warning systems – a selection:

Filling stations: Monitoring the air quality and gas concentration in the surrounding area is essential, especially at hydrogen filling stations.

Workshops: In workshops that service and repair hydrogen-powered vehicles, monitoring for leaks is essential.

Garages and buildings: If hydrogen-powered vehicles are parked inside buildings, gas monitoring is appropriate.

Vehicles: In hydrogen vehicles themselves, monitoring for leaks, e.g. in the vicinity of the energy storage unit, is important.

Security concepts in the event of an alarm

Clear safety protocols and operational alarm systems must be in place to respond immediately in the event of a leak.

Maintenance, calibration, planning

Regular maintenance and calibration of the sensors for all gas detectors are necessary to ensure a high level of reliability.

Infrastructure: When planning and operating hydrogen filling stations, monitoring the environment for gas concentrations is an important part of the safety measures.

Training and sensitization: Staff should be trained in handling hydrogen and the safety systems in order to be able to react correctly in an emergency.

As a gas warning provider, it is crucial for us to provide high-quality, reliable sensors and gas warning systems that are specially adapted to the properties of hydrogen and other operating conditions. This can significantly increase safety in hydrogen mobility.
