Description
The ExDetector SC 220 can be used to detect flammable gases and vapors in the measuring range from 0 to 50 % LEL. A semiconductor gas sensor is used for measurement, which is very robust. It is often a sensible alternative to other sensors that cannot be used due to the presence of catalyst poisons in the atmosphere.
The ExDetector SC 220 can be used in Ex zone 2.
Because safety counts.
The ExDetector SC 220 is stand-alone capable, i.e. it can independently initiate protective measures without the additional use of an evaluation unit. Integrated low-voltage switching outputs for pre-alarm, main alarm and sensor fault are available. It can also be conventionally connected to an evaluation unit.
● Standalone mode
The integrated alarm evaluation is switched on. Two alarm levels with switch-off hysteresis can be stored in the programming. Alarm level 1 (pre-alarm) switches a non-latching NC contact and alarm level 2 (main alarm) switches a latching NC contact. After falling below this alarm threshold, the alarm is retained and must be acknowledged via the reset input. A fault signaling contact signals malfunction and overrange. In addition, the measured value is output as a 4 – 20 mA current signal for further processing.
● Transmitter CL
If the alarm evaluation functionality is not required, the sensor can be operated with the integrated CL option. In this case, the sensor supplies the measured gas concentration in the form of a 4 – 20 mA current signal for
further processing in an alarm control center; the alarm switching contacts are not activated. Suitable signal conditioning instruments include GMC 8043, GMC 8032, GMC 8022, GMC 8022E, GMC 8364.
